The Jaiñtia Students’ Union (JSU), Jowai Circle today said they detected eight Bangladeshi nationals at Demthring in West Jaintia Hills district.
According to the JSU the Bangladeshi nationals, that include four men and four women, were travelling in two Wagon R tourist vehicles bearing registration numbers ML05 AE 4857 and ML05 AB 3544.
The union said they were detected by its members at around 1:15 am this morning. It was also revealed that another Alto car managed to escape the Demthring check point, the JSU added.
The detained Bangladeshis were handed over to police and an FIR was lodged at the Jowai Police Station.
