In an effort to support and uplift persons with disabilities, various aids and appliances were distributed to the disabled here today at a special programme.
The event was undertaken through the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. This programme aimed to address critical health and practical needs, showcasing a commitment to inclusivity and community support.
Paul Lyngdoh, Minister of Social Welfare, was the chief guest and Pravin Bakshi, Commissioner and Secretary, was the special guest.
The event saw the distribution of essential aids and appliances designed to enhance the quality of life for persons with disabilities. These included smart phones, auxiliary crutches, teaching learning material (TLM) kits, rollators (walkers with wheels), hearing aids, cerebral palsy chairs, crutches, wheelchairs and tablet computers.
“Our goal today was to create an inclusive environment where every individual, regardless of their abilities, can access critical information and receive practical assistance,” Lyngdoh said. “We are honoured to contribute to the well-being and independence of our community members with disabilities.”
