National People’s Party (NPP) general secretary and Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar today claimed that his party will form the executive committees (EC) in both the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and its Jaintia Hills counterpart (JHADC).
In saying so, Dhar brushed aside the threat of anti-incumbency or the resignation of sitting NPP Mawlai MDC Teiborlang Pathaw.
Pathaw recently decided to seek reelection as an independent.
Meanwhile, Dhar also said that he does not fear the Voice of the People Party. “Situations differ from one constituency to another. It is not the same formula, not the same system,” he said.
On Pathaw’s resignation, Dhar said that though he has quit, there are others wanting to contest from the party.
“Somebody wants to go and somebody wants to come, that is the usual process during elections,” Dhar said.
