In commemoration of World Blood Donors Day, the Ri-Bhoi District Cricket Association (RBDCA) joined hands today to contribute to the cause by organising a blood donation drive at the blood bank of Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
Led by RBDCA president Rayonald Kharkamni, a total of 10 members and officials of the association came forward to donate blood to the blood bank.
Addressing the media, Rayonald Kharkamni emphasised that the association’s blood donation efforts were not solely to mark the occasion of World Blood Donors Day. Instead, they aimed to save numerous precious lives during emergencies by donating blood on this day.
Kharkamni further stated that the association had previously conducted multiple meetings to encourage blood donations at the blood bank. The primary objective behind these efforts is to inspire others to step forward and donate blood, thereby ensuring that individuals in need of blood during emergencies receive the necessary supply to save their lives.
