The Commissioner and Secretary of the Community and Rural Department, Frederick Roy Kharkhongor, and other officials inspected Tuber Kmaishnong village in East Jaiñtia Hills yesterday where they assured help to uplift the village.
Kharkongor also inspected the Vocational Training Centre that was established in 1957 and promised aid to improve it.
He lauded the village for persevering to maintain its forest cover, craves, the Spaiñ Fish Sanctuary, Snieriang Eco Park, etc, which are the main tourist attractions in the village.
The village headman, Miki Lyngdoh, expressed gratitude for the promises of help for the village.
