The East Garo Hills district administration warned parents today that children are also susceptible to Covid-19. This came on the day when a four-year-old girl died due to complications related to the coronavirus.
In a social media post, the administration urged people to immediately report to hospital in case of Covid symptoms and requested all parents to sensitise children about Covid appropriate behaviour.
“Avoid taking the kids to crowded areas such as markets for the time being. Help us to help you!” the administration said.
Children are at less risk of developing severe symptoms of the disease but it, unfortunately, does happen.
On June 12 the state Health Department reported the death of two infants who had contracted Covid-19, while a nine-month-old baby died with the disease in May.
