The seven-day rolling average of new Covid-related deaths in Meghalaya dropped to below 1 for the first time since April 24 today. The rate is currently 0.86.
No new fatalities were recorded today, though there were 32 new case as well as 66 recoveries.
East Khasi Hills recorded 18 new cases today and there were 14 between the other 10 districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 44 recoveries and there were 22 between the other 10 districts.
There are now 482 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 291 active cases, West Khasi Hills 98, West Jaiñtia Hills 30, Ri-Bhoi 26, West Garo Hills 10, East Garo Hills nine, South West Khasi Hills six, East Jaiñtia Hills five, South West Garo Hills five, North Garo Hills one and South Garo Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 83,559 Covid-19 cases, of which 482 are active, 81,628 have recovered and 1,449 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.69 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 41.43 and for new deaths is 0.86.
