There were 166 new cases of Covid-19 in Meghalaya today, along with 172 recoveries and four fatalities. That brought the seven-day average of new cases to a low of 179.14, a level it has not reached since September 14.
Two of the deaths were in East Khasi Hills, one in Ri-Bhoi and one in West Khasi Hills. Three of the four were unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 97 new cases today, West Khasi Hills 42, West Jaiñtia Hills 10 and 17 between the other eight districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 60 recoveries, West Jaiñtia Hills 41, Ri-Bhoi 31, West Khasi Hills 16, South West Khasi Hills 14 and 10 between the other six districts.
There are now 1,868 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 881 active cases, West Khasi Hills 403, West Jaiñtia Hills 270, Ri-Bhoi 143, South West Khasi Hills 90, West Garo Hills 29, East Jaiñtia Hills 27, East Garo Hills 10, South West Garo Hills six, North Garo Hills six and South Garo Hills three.
In all, Meghalaya has had 79,983 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,868 are active, 76,730 have recovered and 1,385 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 95.93 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 179.14 and for new deaths is 2.57.
