There were eight new cases of Covid-19 in Meghalaya today along with three recoveries and no fatalities.
East Khasi Hills accounted for one new case, Ri-Bhoi three, West Garo Hills three and West Jaiñtia Hills one.
Ri-Bhoi, South West Khasi Hills and West Garo Hills accounted for one recovery each.
There are now 53 active Covid-19 cases in the state – East Garo Hills four, East Jaiñtia Hills zero, East Khasi Hills 15, Eastern West Khasi Hills zero, North Garo Hills zero, Ri-Bhoi 12, South Garo Hills zero, South West Garo Hills three, South West Khasi Hills zero, West Garo Hills 17, West Jaiñtia Hills two and West Khasi Hills zero.
In all, Meghalaya has had 96,651 Covid-19 cases, out of which 94,976 have recovered and 1,622 have died from the virus. There are 11 patients being treated in hospital with the disease – six in East Khasi Hills, three in Ri-Bhoi and two in West Garo Hills.
