There were four new Covid-related deaths recorded in Meghalaya today, the highest single-day figure since October 10. There were also 27 new infections and 37 recoveries.
Two deaths were in East Khasi Hills and one each in West Jaintia Hills and South West Garo Hills. All four were unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 20 new cases, with seven between the other 10 districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 26 recoveries and there were 11 between the other 10 districts.
There are now 412 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 275 active cases, West Khasi Hills 56, West Jaiñtia Hills 26, Ri-Bhoi 16, West Garo Hills 12, East Garo Hills seven, South West Khasi Hills seven, East Jaiñtia Hills six, North Garo Hills four, South West Garo Hills two and South Garo Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 83,712 Covid-19 cases, of which 412 are active, 81,844 have recovered and 1,456 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.77 percent. The fatality is 1.74 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 42.43 and for new deaths is 1.43.
