There were two new Covid-related fatalities in Meghalaya today, along with 59 new cases and 94 recoveries.
One of the fatalities was in West Khasi Hills and the other in South West Khasi Hills. One of the deceased was unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 45 new cases today and there were 14 between the other 10 districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 45 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 36 and 13 between the other nine districts.
There are now 698 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 454 active cases, West Khasi Hills 135, West Jaintia Hills 44, Ri-Bhoi 33, West Garo Hills 15, South West Khasi Hills five, South West Garo Hills four, East Jaintia Hills three, East Garo Hills two, North Garo Hills two and South Garo Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 83,269 Covid-19 cases, of which 698 are active, 81,128 have recovered and 1,443 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.43 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 64.86 and for new deaths is 1.57.
