A couple allegedly died by suicide after drowning in a pond at Nangbah village in West Jaiñtia Hills district today.
Police said Regardfull Susngi (24) and Samphuhbha Pala are caretakers of the pond.
“It is suspected that they must have drowned themselves due to some reason which could not be established so far,” police said, adding, both the deceased have been identified by their relatives and necessary legal formalities have been taken up.
