New containment order has been issued by the Mairang Sub-Divisional Magistrate to fight the spread of Covid-19.
The order was necessitated after a spurt of Covid cases in Kynshi Pyllun. The areas declared as containment zones are Kynshi Mawria, Kynshi Bangla, Kynshi Raishan, Kynshi Mawteijrong, Kynshi Mawtadain and Kynshi Mawphanain have been declared as containment zones.
Unregulated entry and exit movement in these areas begins from 5 am of September 17.
The order states that no person shall be allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the area shall not move out besides all the inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their homes.
However, farming activities and those engage in the 100-day work under the rural employment guarantee scheme are exempted from the containment order. Secretaries of the VECs are to strictly ensure that health protocols are maintained, the order said.
All shops are to remain closed except for those selling essential commodities as per timings set by the CCMT and the incident commander.
Construction works, offices and banks will also remain closed.
Kynshi Pyllun has registered 236 Covid-19 cases out of which 51 are active cases.
