Shillong, Jun 22: Students of PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Mukhla, participated in an awareness programme aimed at promoting a drug-free lifestyle.
Organised under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) and Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Shillong, the programme aimed at sensitising students on the adverse effects of substance abuse.
The programme encouraged students to make informed choices, reject substance abuse and become active participants in promoting cleanliness, responsible waste management and environmental conservation.
The programme was attended by Neeraj Kumar, Principal of PM Shri JNV Mukhla, alongside faculty members and officials from CBC Shillong.
Presentations highlighted the NMBA’s mission to mobilise community efforts toward a drug-free India and raise awareness about the impacts of addiction on personal and societal health.
Block Programme Assistant (SBM-G) Hun-i-ka Tang elaborated on the Swachh Bharat Mission’s objectives, focusing on how improved sanitation and waste management contribute to a sustainable environment.
Students engaged during the interactive sessions, discussing substance abuse prevention strategies and healthy lifestyle choices. A drawing competition, cleanliness drive and interactive quiz were also held during the programme.
Winners of the drawing competition and quiz contest were awarded prizes and certificates in recognition of their performance and active involvement.
