The Superintendent of Police (Fire and Emergency Service) Shillong has informed that due to the increase in theft of cables in the city, both landline and broadband were disconnected by BSNL and will not be in operation for the time being.
Therefore, during emergencies, the general public can reach out on the new emergency numbers: emergency number (NERS) 112 and tablet number 7640003646.
