The Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya rescued 23 buffaloes meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh.
The buffaloes were hidden inside a jungle near the international border in the border area of West Jaintia Hills district, the BSF said.
The operation was conducted by the 4th Battalion of the BSF yesterday.
The seized cattle were handed over to the concerned police station for further necessary action, the BSF said.
