To promote the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in daily life, the Border Security Force in Meghalaya, under the ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign, has successfully accomplished a two-week ‘Swachhta Pakhwaada’, an initiative by the central government to hold various cleanliness events from December 1 to 15.
The BSF’s cleanliness campaign was conducted under the mentorship of Inderjit Singh Rana, Inspector General of BSF Meghalaya, It commenced with the pledge administered by him to all the personnel serving under BSF Meghalaya.
During the programme, the border force carried out an extensive cleaning and awareness drive at BSF campuses, public places as well as residential areas. It also propagated the campaign through road marches and by displaying banners at public places to motivate the local population to become part of the initiative.
