The 193rd Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya carried out the latest of its civic action programmes in Bararyngkyu, East Khasi Hills, yesterday.
Villagers and children from border schools attended the programme during which utility items like computers, televisions, sports items, utensils for village community centres and other items were distributed to more than 300 villagers and school students.
An anti-drug awareness campaign was also launched to sensitise the youth against drug abuse. A cultural programme was presented by the school children and they all were presented gifts by the 193rd Battalion Commandant.
