The Border Security Force (BSF), Meghalaya seized 20 cattle from East Jaiñtia Hills district meant for smuggling to Bangladesh today.
BSF said a truck crammed with the cattle was detected by troops of the mobile check post at Sonapur bridge. However, the driver accelerated the vehicle towards Umkiang area.
After a chase the BSF managed seized the cattle but the driver managed to escape taking advantage of the dense forest along the road.
