The District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills has ordered a ban on gambling activities at Shillong Peak on January 1.
According to the order, passed under relevant sections of the BNSS today, the area is a haunt of gambling and other illegal activities on New Year’s Day and members of the public are also charged entry and/or parking fees in contravention of any authority.
The order bans gambling, other illegal activities and the levying of parking/entry fees at Shillong Peak on January 1, 2025.
