An awareness program on intellectual property rights under the topic, “Artificial Intellectual and Copyrights” was held today at Department of Law, North Eastern Hill University under the aegis of IPR Cell of the university.
Prof. V.K. Ahuja, Vice-Chancellor, National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam and Prof. K. Debbarma, Dean, School of Social Science, NEHU graced the functional chief guest and chairperson respectively.
In introductory remark, Dr. A.K. Singh, Coordinator, IPR Cell highlighted the activities undertaken by the cell in spreading awareness of various facets of intellectual property rights.
Ahuja, in his keynote speech has discussed the emerging areas of artificial intelligence and its relation to the copyrights law. He outlined the artificial intelligence and machines learning that may be required sui generis law to address the same.
An interactive session was also held with faculties, research scholars and students of the department.
