The post-mortem report into the death of Manjunathan C revealed that the senior bureaucrat died of a massive heart attack at the age of just 45.
Manjunathan was brought dead to Woodland Hospital around 6:30pm yesterday from his official quarters in Forest Colony, Polo.

The body of the late Manjunathan was today transported to Guwahati airport for onward transport by flight to his hometown of Bangalore where the last rites would be held.
Manjunathan’s colleagues were on hand at the hospital as well as senior ministers. These included Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Minister Alexander Laloo Hek, Chief Secretary Donald P Wahlang.
Manjunathan, an IFS officer, was serving in the position as Secretary of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department.
“We have lost an officer who has served the state for the past many years. It is really a huge loss for the government,” Ampareen said.
She also informed that the government has made all necessary arrangements to transport the body to Bangalore.
Manjunathan was survived by his wife and three-month-old child. Both were in Bangalore at the time of the civil servant’s death.
