The Khasi Students Union (KSU) has complained that an ATM at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch at Umsning, Ri-Bhoi, is non-functional, causing a headache for bank customers.
The branch serves people from around 260 villages, the pressure group told the manager and the nearest alternatives are in Nongpoh (30km away) and Umiam (22km).
The pressure group has given three days for the bank to make the ATM operational.
