Vanit Agrata, the women empowerment cell of Assam Don Bosco University, has won the 8th e-North East Award 2023 under the Social and Financial category.
The prestigious was conferred at the award ceremony jointly organized by the Council for Social and Digital Development (CSDD), Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF), and North East Development Foundation in Guwahati on November 25.
The award won by the Vanit Agrata was for its outstanding contributions to the empowerment of women in Assam. The cell’s initiatives, particularly the projects named Shashakt Mahila and Shashakt Balika, have played a pivotal role in realizing its mission since its establishment in 2015.
The cell led by Dr. Gypsy Nandi, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Applications, VanitAgrata has demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to uplifting women in Assam.
Dr. Nandi expressed gratitude for the recognition and emphasized that it motivates the team to continue pushing boundaries and exploring new avenues for positive change.
The e-North East Award is a flagship event recognising and promoting innovative digital solutions for sustainable development in the North Eastern region since 2010.
