A fuel refill centre was robbed by two unidentified armed men in 14 Mile near Byrnihat under Ri Bhoi district.
Police said the two accused went to the refill centre in a red-black and white pulsar bike and entered the refill centre loaded with AK-47 rifle and one 9mm pistol at around 5:38 pm yesterday.
While one of the accused face was covered with a muffler, another with a helmet. The crime was recorded by a CCTV camera installed inside the cabin of the manager of the centre. One of the accused men went to locker and took out the money about Rs 2.5 lakh.
Police said due to low resolution the registration of the bike was illegible.
After the crime inside the cabin, the accused men also snatched sale money from a staffer and fled the scene towards Sonapur in Assam on the same bike, it is learnt.
The refill centre is owned by Paul Kiesing Nongrum of Shillong and C.L Sethia.
