Shillong, Sep 4: The Bawagre Sub-Unit of AHAM has sought urgent intervention of the government for posting of a new Block Development Officer (BDO) at Tikrikilla Development Block in West Garo Hills.
In a letter to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, AHAM sub-unit president Briwat Sangma said administrative and development works in the block have been facing delays following the retirement of the previous BDO.
He said crucial public services, fund clearances and implementation of schemes have been temporarily halted due to absence of a designated head.
The organisation urged the government to appoint a new BDO or assign additional charge to another officer to ensure smooth functioning of the block.
