The Khasi Students Union (KSU) today went to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) with an allegation that lands under the look out of the district council are being surreptitiously sold by agents to the army.
The Eastern Border Area unit and Shillong Mihngi Circle of the KSU met KHADC CEM, Titosstarwell Chyne and stated that the lands included those at the River Swad Umsohlang including villages like Lumkseh, Wahmyntait, Mawkduk, Kyrdeng, Lum Diengngan, Lumrit, and Mowkynring.
The members urged the CEM to take the matter seriously and to direct the Hima and Dorbar Shnongs to stop such moves.
The KSU said that the MDC of Umroi, Mawryngkneng, and Laitumkhrah have also been alerted.
