The Mihmyntdu Community Social Welfare Association (MCSWA) in collaboration with the Deputy Commissioner of the East Jaintia Hills District, under the Chief Minister’s Youth Development Scheme (CMYDS), recently organized a three-day training program on food processing.
The program aimed to empower women by providing them with opportunities for additional income and encouraging them to utilize locally available fruits for processing into jams, beverages, and other products.
During the training, participants learned skills in making jams and beverages from locally sourced fruits. Certificates were awarded to all trainees who successfully completed the program.
The concluding day of the training programme was attended by G. Pala, Functional Manager of the District Commerce and Industries Centre (DCIC), U. M. Diengdoh, Food Safety Officer, Vicky Nelson Manar, Technical Associate from the Directorate of Food Processing and Rinibeth Patlong, Programme Manager of MCSWA, among others.
