A three-day training and farmer-scientist interaction programme on ‘Improvement in winter vegetables production in Garo Hills’ was organised from November 14 to 16.
The training was imparted in three villages – Harigaon (South West Garo Hills), Jetra (South Garo Hills) and Drambok (South West Garo Hills).
A total of 163 farmers gained knowledge with training and farmer-scientist interaction and benefitted with winter vegetable seeds from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research and potato tubers from the ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute Regional Station, Shillong.
The programme was conducted under the chairmanship of Jyoti V Vastrad, Dean of the College of Community Science (CCS), and the organizer was Priyadarshani P Mohapatra, assistant professor at the CCS’s Multi Technology Testing Centre and Vocational Training Centre.
