The Shillong Socio-Cultural Assamese Students’ Association hosted “Nabarun-The First Ray of Sun” a freshers cum felicitation meet recently in the city.
The event was held at Asom Kristi Kendra in Dhankheti, to welcome new students, recognise outstanding achievements, and strengthen bonds among Assamese students and the broader Northeast community in Meghalaya.
Journalist Chakrapani Parashar graced the occasion as the chief guest, delivering an inspiring address that resonated with the vision and aspirations of young students.
Khasi Students Union general secretary Donal V. Thabah expressed solidarity and extended warm support to the association.
All Assam Students’ Union president Utpal Sharma was the guest speaker who highlighted the importance of unity and cooperation among the students of Northeast.
FKJGP president Dundee C Khongsit attended as a special invitee. Members of various students’ unions and associations of the region active in Meghalaya were also present as special guests, further symbolizing the spirit of camaraderie.
SSASA extends heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries, members of different student unions, guests, and participants whose support made the “Freshers Meet and Felicitation Program 2024” a resounding success. The association looks forward to organizing more events that foster cultural exchange, mutual respect, and support for all students from the Northeast in the years to come.
