Three Congress MLAs – Dr. Celestine Lyngdoh, Charles Marngar and Gabriel Wahlang will be joining the National People’s Party (NPP) today evening sources informed.
Sources said that the trio will be welcomed by NPP National President, Conrad Sangma.
With the joining of the three Congress MLAs the NPP will be in majority in the House with 31 members.
It may be mentioned that last week, two of the three legislators, Marngar from Mawhati constituency and Wahlang of Nongstoin constituency, were suspended from the Congress for six years.
However, Dr. Lyngdoh who appeared before the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee was not suspended.
