The Meghalaya Chess Association will conduct its first Meghalaya State Senior Chess Championship 2024 for those 50 years and above on July 19-20 at the Youth Hostel here to celebrate International Chess Day, which falls on July 20.
The total prize money is Rs 16,500, with Rs 5,000 going to the winner.
To be eligible, players should be at least 50 years old as on June 30, 2024. Players must provide Aadhaar or Voter’s ID card for age proof. The entry fee is Rs 300 per player and the last date to enter is July 16 at 6pm. Free lodging will be provided to players from outside East Khasi Hills.
