Khun Hynñiewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) working president Thomas Passah has said that the withdrawal of the banned Hynñiewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) militant group from peace talks is sad for the state.
“The peace talks have progressed in the past two years so that peace can prevail and the HNLC can come to the mainstream,” Passah said.
He said that the state government should be flexible on the HNLC demands for an amnesty, saying that the government had withdrawn cases against Garo Hills-based ANVC in the past.
