The state unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has demanded an explanation from the Education Department after the results of application process for posts of Assistant Teacher in government lower primary schools saw no tribals qualify through the general category.
The posts were for the Dadenggre subdivision of West Garo Hills.
The results, according to the ABVP’s Tengku M Marak, raised many questions and the government must stay the recruitment process after an investigation into the “discrepancy”.
There were, according to the ABVP, 34 posts in the general category, 33 of which were claimed by “one community”.
Marak listed a series of questions into why no tribal qualified and how only members of one community could dominate the results.
