In solidarity with its members who held a sit-in demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, the Western Ri-Bhoi unit of the Hynñiewtrep A’chik National Movement (HANM) held a protest at Patharkhmah today.
HANM are protesting in the national capital and within the state in favour of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) and inclusion of Khasi in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
The pressure group’s members displayed banners and flags in Patharkhmah to emphasise their call for the central government to address the organisation’s demands.
