The Rural Women Upliftment Society (RWUS), in collaboration with Churachandpur Hospital and local private practitioners, embarked on a noble healthcare initiative for internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the recent ethnic violence in Manipur.
A two-day health camp for IDPs began on Monday and will conclude on Tuesday. The first day saw 310 patients given medical checkups and consultations.
The initiative aims to address the pressing healthcare needs of the displaced individuals who have been living in challenging conditions.
The health camp brought together a team of four dedicated doctors, including two from Churachandpur Hospital and two from private practices. These experienced medical professionals are offering their expertise to ensure that each patient receives necessary care and attention.
To ease the burden on the IDPs, RWUS has provided free medicines to all patients attending the health camp. This gesture seeks to alleviate the financial burden of healthcare expenses and ensure timely access to essential medications, a press release said on Monday.
Expressing her gratitude, Mary Beth Sanate, RWUS secretary, extended her heartfelt thanks to the dedicated volunteers, doctors and supporters who have made the health camp possible.
