At least seven persons including three children were injured when lightning struck a house at Umsohlait village under Ri Bhoi District.
The incident happened at around 3 pm yesterday. The injured persons are Driamizaca Shadap (4), Banraplang Khongsam (5), Kyrshanborlang Mynsong (11), Banaibor Lyngdoh (20), Johnsing Lynshing (29), Martha Shadap (55), and Kristina Mynsong, who is the owner of the house.
The house, which was completely reduced to ashes, was situated at Dong Kimheh. Sources said all the injured persons were first taken to Mawhati PHC, but to the grievous injuries they have been admitted to a city hospital in Shillong.
Properties and assets loss was estimated is around Rs. 3 lakhs, the village headman said.
