The HNYF Southern Ri-War Circle has filed a complaint to the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills over the alleged involvement of policemen in facilitating overloading by trucks carrying boulders through the fragile Dawki bridge.
According to the complaint, on June 7, HNYF volunteers tried to stop overloaded boulder trucks from plying on the fragile Dawki bridge.
The complaints stated that all these overloaded trucks were escorted by the police and the special units of the police.
Expressing disbelief that “the police were part and parcel of such kind of illegal activities,” the HNYF complaint also sought immediate action on the matter.
