The MDA-2 government has accommodated MLAs of its allies in various positions in the government.
While UDP president and Mairang MLA Metbah Lyngdoh has been appointed as Chairman of the State Planning Board, party MLA from Mawphlang Mathew Beyondstar Kurbah and party MLA from Mawsynram Ollan Singh Suin have been appointed as co-chairmen of the board.
UDP MLA from Amlarem Lahkmen Rymbui has been appointed as Chief Adviser to the State government.
Other UDP MLAs who got accommodated include Mayralborn Syiem (Nongpoh) who has been appointed as chairman of Meghalaya State Health Advisory Board and Pius Marwein (Ranikor) who has been made co-chairman of Meghalaya Government Construction Corporation Ltd.
Two MLAs belonging to the PDF are also among the appointees. While party MLA from Sohra Gavin Mylliem has been appointed as advisor to the Health Department, Mawkynrew MLA Banteidor Lyngdoh has been appointed as adviser to Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Department.
BJP MLA from South Shillong Sanbor Shullai has been made chairman of Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation Ltd.
Two independent legislators were also rewarded for supporting the government. They are Rambrai-Jyrngam MLA Reminton Gabil Momin who has been appointed as chairman of Meghalaya Mineral Development Corporation Ltd and Baghmara MLA Kartush R. Marak who has been appointed as chairman of Meghalaya Government Construction Corporation Ltd.
The State government has also appointed several NPP MLAs as chairmen and advisers.
They include Limison D. Sangma (chairman of Meghalaya Resources & Employment Generation Council), Jimmy D. Sangma (chairman of Meghalaya Economic Development Council), Jim M. Sangma (chairman of Forest Development Corporation Ltd), Brenning A. Sangma (chairman of State Government Programme Implementation & Monitoring Committee), Arbinstone B. Marak chairman of Meghalaya State Development Resource Commission), Pongseng R. Marak (chairman of State Level Public Grievances Committee), Rupert Momin (chairman of Meghalaya New & Renewable Energy Development Agency), Subir Marak (chairman of Meghalaya Khadi and Village Industries Board), Ian Botham K. Sangma (adviser to the Forest Department), and Marthon J. Sangma (adviser to the Power Department).
