Two children have reportedly gone missing after a suspected cylinder blast at Them Mawbah locality here today.
The incident occurred at around 7 pm. The fire destroyed five houses in the upper most part of a four-storey building.
Fire services were pushed into action and were able to douse the fire even as the narrow lanes made it difficult for authorities to enter the locality.
New East Khasi Hill SP, Raghavendra Kumar MG said a forensic unit is in place to check for the details. He said that two children have gone missing.
