Rongrong MDC Rinaldo K Sangma has sharply criticised Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma over exploiting photo opportunities instead of doing any real work for the people of Garo Hills.
In a press release today, Rinaldo, of the Trinamool Congress, said that the CM will have to face the judgement of the people at the forthcoming state election and answer for his “political gimmicks”.
Some of these photo ops, in Rinaldo’s eyes, include the inauguration of “half-completed” stadiums and blacktopping of small 100m stretches of road.
By contrast, the MDC said that no work has been done on the Damra-Resubelpara-Bajengdoba Road, which was initiated in 2019.
Work on just one side of the road along the Gajing Bibra stretch, which was highlighted in one of Conrad’s social media posts, was begun just before the CM’s visit to the area, Rinaldo claimed.
With regards to the Resubelpara-Gajing-Mendipathar Road, Rinaldo said that it is a major lifeline for the general public and he requested the Chief Minister “to stop the stunts and gimmicks and earnestly direct the contractors to speed up the construction and alleviate the problems of our local people.”
