The District & Session’s Court in West Jaiñtia Hills district sentenced a man to 15 years rigorous imprisonment for rape he committed on a 9-year old, 15 years ago.
Donbor Syngkli had committed the crime on September 20, 2007.
Police said an FIR was lodged on November 6, 2007 at Jowai police station. Following investigation he was charge sheeted under section 376/506 IPC.
The court found the accused Syngkli guilty of charges and in the order passed yesterday heard the sentence and imposed a fine of Rs.50, 000.
