Holy Cross Health Centre, Mairang today celebrated its Silver Jubilee with a grand function held at its premises.
Health Minister James P. K Sangma who attended the function as the chief guest congratulated the health centre and spoke of the arduous journey undertaken by the management. He said the health centre is a testimony of the services and hard work put in by the management in its efforts of serving the people of the area.
He also said that the silver jubilee provides the management with an opportunity to introspect and to acknowledge the contribution made by health care workers and administrators past and present and to look ahead at the way forward in its continuous attempt of serving the people of the region with empathy and compassion.
Speaking on past collaborations made between the government and private entities from time to time, the minister expressed hope for more such collaborations in future as part of the combined effort of serving the people through the health care sector.
Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Sampath Kumar, MDC Batskhem Ryntathiang, Archbishop of Shillong, Archbishop Victor Lyngdoh, Deputy Commissioner, Wilfred Nongsiej, Provincial Superior, Holy Cross North Indian Province, Sister Linet, Administrator, Holy Cross Health Centre, Mairang Sister Jesse Jose, health care professionals, government officials, traditional heads and others were present on the occasion.
Fervour was added to the celebration by melodious songs and colourful dances performed by the staff of Holy Cross Health Centre and some of the staff of the health centre were also felicitated during the programme.
