The West Jaiñtia Hills district administration in collaboration with the Jowai Municipal Board and Dorbar Chnong Tympang Iawmusiang carried out a cleaning drive in the market areas yesterday as part of the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, which will fall on Sunday.
Residents of Iawmusiang, stakeholders, vendors and shopkeepers actively participated in the cleaning drive of CNI Market, Seinraij Market, Jowai Presbyterian (Iawchyiap) Market and surrounding areas.
The cleaning drive was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner PK Boro.
As instructed by the Deputy Commissioner, all the offices in the district also took part in the drive, cleaning their own offices and compounds.
