Shillong, Aug 5: The Meghalaya High Court ordered the clubbing of five FIRs against former Phulbari MLA S.G. Esmatur Mominin and directed that all be investigated together at Araimile Police Station, Tura.
Chief Justice Revati Mohite Dere disposed of four petitions filed by Mominin seeking clubbing of cases registered at Phulbari and Araimile police stations after GHADC election-related incidents in March this year.
The FIRs, lodged by Leader of the Opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma, GSU leaders and others, were under BNS and the Meghalaya Maintenance of Public Order Act.
The court directed transfer of the cases within three days. The bench said Mominin may seek quashing later.
