Shillong, Aug 5: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma held a meeting today with Deputy Chief Ministers Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar, Chief Secretary P Shakeel Ahhamed and Director General of Police Idashisha Nongrang, along with other top officials ahead of the Voice of the People Party’s (VPP’s) planned march on the Secretariat tomorrow.
Speaking afterwards, the CM said that the government is open to discussion on any issues adding that the democratic processes are held in the Assembly, which he said is the right platform to air grievances.
Sangma said that the government has never closed its doors to discuss and that the government was open to dialogue on any matter of public importance.
Meanwhile, VPP leader Ardent M Basaiawmoit has urged supporters to attend the march but to ensure absolute peace and discipline while doing so.
