A three-day mid-career interaction programme for officers of the armed forces and civil services began here today, organised by the headquarters of the 101 Area.
The theme is ‘Evolving Joint Functional Structures for Real Time Intelligence Gathering and Sharing’.
Speaking at the programme, Lt Gen KC Panchnathan, GOC 101 Area, brought out the challenges in intelligence gathering as a large number of intelligence agencies are involved, which requires greater coordination. He further stressed on the need for integrated intelligence set-up for seamless flow of information.
A large number of speakers of repute and experts on the subjects to be discussed will interact with the participants. The programme, it is hoped, will benefit both the armed forces and civil services officers by way of mutual learning from each other’s strengths and exchanging best values, culture, customs and ethos with each other. This, in the long run, is expected to help combat future challenges to national security in a better and more coordinated way.
