Director General of Police Lajja Ram Bishnoi has ordered an inquiry into the alleged irregularities and mismanagement in the procurement of vehicles and use of fuel by the police headquarters.
The inquiry will be headed by Additional Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) Mukesh Kumar Singh. The other members of the enquiry committee include Deputy Inspector General of Police (Eastern Range) Davis N R Marak, Commandant of First MLP Battalion Claudia A. Lyngwa, Superintendent of Police (Anti-Infiltration) Jubi G. Momin, and official in-charge of Central Workshop B V Khongwir.
The committee will investigate alleged irregularities and mismanagement in the procurement of vehicles by police headquarters, non-registration of procured vehicles, issuing of unauthorised petrol and diesel coupons and other related issues.
The committee has been asked to seize all records connected to procurement and distribution and all other connected matters.
The order for the enquiry was issued by the DGP on July 21 with a deadline of one week to complete the probe.
