There were four Covid-related deaths recorded in Meghalaya today, the worst day in several months. There were also 106 new cases and 64 recoveries.
Two fatalities were in Ri-Bhoi, one in East Jaiñtia Hills and one in West Garo Hills, the Health Department informed.
There were three new infections in East Jaiñtia Hills, 20 in East Khasi Hills, two in Eastern West Khasi Hills, eight in Ri-Bhoi, six in South Garo Hills, 10 in South West Garo Hills, 50 in West Garo Hills, four in West Jaiñtia Hills and three in West Khasi Hills.
Twenty-three recoveries were in East Khasi Hills, two in North Garo Hills, 15 in Ri-Bhoi, one in South Garo Hills, six in South West Garo Hills and 17 in West Garo Hills.
There are now 591 active Covid-19 cases in the state – East Garo Hills seven, East Jaiñtia Hills seven, East Khasi Hills 125, Eastern West Khasi Hills five, North Garo Hills four, Ri-Bhoi 39, South Garo Hills 19, South West Garo Hills 31, West Garo Hills 331, West Jaiñtia Hills 17 and West Khasi Hills six.
In all, Meghalaya has had 94,987 Covid-19 cases, out of which 92,791 have recovered and 1,605 have died from the virus. Sixty-seven patients are being treated in hospital with the disease – 39 in East Khasi Hills, five in Ri-Bhoi, two in South Garo Hills, 16 in West Garo Hills and five in West Jaiñtia Hills.
