Two persons were detained for transporting narcotic substances, police said today.
West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivekanand Singh Rathore said the pair identified as Rex John K Sangma of Ringre Gittim and Bishal Ch Marak of Lower Balsarang, was proceeding from Mankachar, Assam to Tura.
Both were travelling in a Yamaha R15 bike bearing registration number ML-08-G-723 and 2856 of SP capsules (142.8gm tramadol Hydrochloride) and 18 no of nitcor 10 tablets (18 gm nitrazapem IP) were recovered from their possession.
A case under the NDPS act has been registered and their links are being investigated, Rathore said.
